Inspired by the apple cakes baked by our grandmas, our chefs began with an old-fashioned homemade buttery shortbrread crust which they then top with wholesome sliced apples, a hint of cinnamon and a dash of nutmget. Rich and moist, this cake is ideal for birthdays, family gatherings and dinner parties.
